App Stats: What it really means

To paraphrase William James, what you pay attention to is what shapes your reality.  Some real phenomena (reality) will never enter your existential field of vision.  I stumbled on a small set of statistics that did more than catch my attention, they hit me right in the face.

My existential field of vision widened. Over the past six months, we have focused on the need for business leaders to understand, accept, and adapt to the realities and challenges brought about as we transition through this era of digital transformation; the nature of technology-fueled change is continuous, and the rate of change is accelerating exponentially. As a result, when I look at the statistics above through the lens of exponential technologies converging with social and cultural needs sparked by the pandemic, I do not see big tech-fueled hyperbole, packaged for marketing purposes. I see the impact of continuous and accelerating change and indicators that lead me to believe we are rapidly approaching a tipping point.
